LO3- Proposal
Purpose:
The purpose of the product will be to inform people about their local football club. Another purpose for the radio show will be to entertain the audience by adding quizzes that they can join in with. We will also be talking about the latest Doncaster Rovers results and news to keep the audience informed on the sports. Another purpose for the radio show will be to raise awareness for the local football communities who need the support from local supporters. this will influence the target audience to start supporting Doncaster Rovers.
Target Audience:
The target audience for the radio show will be teens and young adults aged between 16-30. This is because it will most likely be listened to by the target audience on the go. This means that the target audience will need to be old enough to have a car so they will be listening to the radio show in the car whilst they are either on the way home or on their way to work, college etc. They will also have to be that age because there will be strong language in parts of our radio show so the audience will have to be old enough where they are to sensitive to strong language. The gender of the target audience will also be males because football is dominated by a male audience. This doesn't mean that females won't watch the radio show but it will be mainly watched by males. Our product will be targeting a mainstream audience because football is the most popular sport in the world and is watched by billions. However, our product could be targeting a niche audience. This is because we will be talking about local football so the target audience will be a niche audience because a mainstream audience won't be interested in local football in Doncaster.
Budget:
In terms of budgeting for the radio show, we will need to consider the cost of many things. This includes microphones, headphones, a laptop, Adobe Audition, a receiver and audio playback component. Adobe audition costs £19.97 per month, Headphones are a different price depending on how good quality headphones you would like. If we want good quality headphones we will need to pay £30-£80. A microphone will also change in price depending on how good you want the quality. For a good quality microphone you will need to pay £40-£100. For a high quality laptop I will need to pay £250-£500. A good receiver will cost between £20-£70. An audio playback component would cost between £50-£500.
Presenters:
The presenters on the radio show won't be following the script. This is because they can add their own wording to make the radio show free flowing whilst the presenters are talking. This will make the radio show less formal and more entertaining for the viewers as it is an entertainment. This will also show the target audience that the radio show is aimed towards them if they are enjoying the show. There will be 3 main presenters for the radio show. Euan Sandland who will be the main presenter, Mac Gallagher's and Jack Batty who will be co presenters. The presenters of the show are teenagers who have a large interest in football and a large interest and knowledge in Doncaster Rovers who the radio show is about. This will help attract the primary target audience who will have a similar demographic as the presenters of the show.
Job Roles:
The job roles tat we will need to create for this radio station will be; a manager, DJ, radio host, radio guests, a producer, sound engineer, copywriter and sound editor. We will only have 3 members in our team so we will have to do multiple jobs in our project. Euan Sandland's job role in the show will be the host. This means he will be the one asking the questions and driving the conversation. Mac Gallagher and Jack Batty's job role will be to answer the questions and debate the questions over each other. They will also be answering incoming caller's questions about Doncaster Rovers.
Content:
The radio show will include jingles that will be suitable for the target audience. Our jingle will be about a shaving brand. This is because the target audience are likely to be people who use shaving products and are looking for the best shaving products. The sound of our jingle will attract the target audience. In terms of distribution to our own radio show. We will use above the line marketing to promote our radio show. This includes bus wraps, adverts and leaflets. We will also use social media marketing to promote the radio show. This is because social media is easily accessible to the target audience because they will all own accounts on social media.
Budgetting:
In terms of gathering funding for our radio show, we will use crowdfunding methods to make money for our radio show. We will most likely use kickstarter to get funds to create our radio show. Kickstarter is a crowd funding sight that allows aspiring creators to find a funding for their new products. People will funds products that they have an interest in or believe that they will succeed to help aspiring creators. This funding will help us buy equipment and push for the development to progress the radio show.
Schedule:
The start of the radio show will be a short introduction of the radio show, the presenters, and what they will be talking about throughout the radio show. This will then be followed up by the jingle and an advert about trying to get people to follow Doncaster Rovers their local club and to watch them live. This links to our radio show because it is about Doncaster Rovers so we are targeting the right people. We will then go back to the studio where the presenters will have incoming callers ask for the presenters thoughts on a certain scenario on Doncaster Rovers. The radio show will then end on a quiz made by the main presenter where the two co hosts will be answering to see who is the winner of the episode. The listeners will also be able to play along at home.
