LO4- Evaluating the flow
After finishing our final edit we could see that our radio show is at a professional standard. We did this by adding effects to the jingles such as music and and the crowd cheer at the end. We included music as it will energize the listeners and make them feel excited to listen to the show. We included the goal cheer at the end our jingle as it is relevant to our product which is football based and goals are what football is all about. After the jingle fades away we dive straight into the topic of discussion which is about Doncaster Rovers season and why it went so wrong. This matches the brief set by TX1 Radio as they are a radio station based in South Yorkshire so there will be discussions about sport in South Yorkshire. This will also make the listeners think as they will have opinions on what they are hearing so this will encourage people to call in and give their opinions on Doncaster Rovers. Following the discussions about Doncaster Rovers there will be an advert for Manscaped which is a male grooming company. This is relevant as the majority of our listeners will be male so it will maximise the potential success of Manscaped as we are speaking to a male audience. After the radio advert, there is a quiz where a random caller has the opportunity to win a prize if they answer the most questions out of everyone who plays. This is a great opportunity for listeners to interact with the presenters and it allows people of community to get involved and have their say. We then play the outro jingle. With all these components, it creates a real radio show that would be at professional standard if it was to actually air on TX1 Radio.
The radio show is structured professionally so the audience will know what to expect from todays show when tuning in. For example, the presenter makes it clear that the first part of the radio show is the main part of the show but also states what will follow. This tells the audience what to expect from todays show
and they can be excited for the quiz later in the show. In the jingle, it tells you the name of the radio show and the name of the radio station. By saying the name of the radio show, people in the future will be able to remember the name and the time so they can tune in again if they want.
The positives to our radio show is that it was pre-recorded so if we made a mistake when speaking we could re speak so it doesn't seem unprofessional. The content in our radio show is similar to that of TalkSport. It will be similar as they are both football talk shows and they incorporate the same elements just What's the score is aimed at more niche audience as it is only based in South Yorkshire.
The negatives to our radio show could be the jingle not flowing as well as it was pre recorded. This meant, when editing we had to cut at the perfect time so it flowed with the show and looked professional. Also, we could make it sound more of a natural conversation because in some parts of the radio show, it sounds like we are reading off a script when we aren't supposed to have given lines.
