LO4- Evaluation

We used a jingle at the beginning and at the end of our radio show to introduce the listeners into the show and out of the show. The jingle is made up all a variety of sound elements such as a voice over, music and a sound clip at the end of the jingle. the voice over in the jingle states the name of the radio show (What's The Score) and the radio station you are watching it on (TX1 radio). The purpose of this is so the listeners know about the name of the radio show and station so they are recognisable and people may come back and listen in the future. We included music the jingle as that will engerise the audience and make them feel excited to listen to the radio show. The ending sounds clip is of a football crowd cheering after a goal which is relevant as our radio show is football based and goals is what football is all about.

LO1: Analysing a radio programme

The radio programme I am going to analyse is TalkSport Drive with Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent. This show begins at 4PM therefore people will listen to this when driving home from work, hence radio show name TalkSport Drive. The show lasts 3 hours long and contains sporting debates mainly about football. This would make sense as one of the presenters (Darren Bent) is a former footballer himself. This is understandably one of TalkSports most popular and most frequently listened to shows as a lot of people will be tuning in at once when coming home. During the show, TalkSport will have callers that ring into to show to give their opinions on the debate which is currently had. This is often from fans of teams or players that are currently being discussed to get a point of view from either side.
